The Crafty Moa welcomes everyone with an appetite for fresh food. There’s a selection of home made soups, salads, Bealey burgers, slow-cooked pies, bar snacks, desserts and a ‘Wee Moas Kids Menu’.

Full Menu Restaurants

Evening dining in the Crafty Moa is a culinary delight with a menu featuring the best locally sourced farmed venison and high country lamb served with the chefs seasonal vegetables.

Relaxing Bar

The Crafty Moa bar is a restful place to sit by the fire and enjoy a glass of wine from leading New Zealand and Australian winemakers, or quench your thirst with a Moa craft beer, international beer or cider on tap or by the bottle.

The Crafty Moa menu

The Crafty Moa menu includes brunch, pub snacks, evening dining and a ‘Wee Moas’ children’s menu. Using the freshest locally sourced ingredients and New Zealand’s finest high country lamb, farmed venison and seafood, no appetite will go unrewarded at the Craft Moa.

Specialities include our Bealey Brunch, with locally sourced Cass free range eggs and Kransky Breakfast sausages, and Slow Cooked Moa Pie (actually tender slow cooked venison in delicious red current and thyme gravy). Our mixed grill is a favourite with the locals and it’s easy to see why with tender BBQ ribs, spicy wings, grilled venison and streaky bacon. For desert the Chocolate Lava Cake features a warm flowing centre served with fresh cream and chocolate fudge sauce.

For a quick snack on the go it’s hard to resist the Moa Wings (that’s chicken wings if you’re wondering) or the Moa Ribs (actually tender pork ribs served on crispy fries).

The Crafty Moa bar

The Crafty Moa bar serves a selection of wines, beers and spirits to enjoy with your meals. The house wines available by the glass are from renowned Marlborough wine maker Allan Scott, complemented with a range of leading New Zealand and Australian wines available by the bottle.

On tap are a range of Moa craft beers from Marlborough along with international beer and cider brands. Beers can also be purchased by the bottle and include New Zealand craft, domestic and international brands.

A full selection of international spirits and liquers are available.

No bookings are required at the Crafty Moa and visitors may enjoy their meals by the roaring fire on a crisp winter’s day, or if staying the night take their food to their rooms.

Well... we rated our stay as outstanding in every aspect and the meal and service was second to none on our South Island circuit. Wish we could have stayed longer. The view down-valley was superb and made even more absorbing by an excellent display of "Dogandstockmanship" by your neighboring runholder!!..
