Host a special alpine event
The restaurant and bar are available for hire for a special alpine event, such as a wedding, family reunion or corporate team building dinner. We cater for up to 80 guests seated for dinner and 120 guests enjoying casual cocktails. Small groups can be accommodated within the dining area, while groups of 50 or more people may have sole occupancy of the venue for lunch or dinner. The restaurant and bar may be booked with or without accommodation as part of your event package.
With a chef on site we can design a menu for your special event to ensure your guests enjoy a memorable occasion in this truly magnificent setting.

Professionally prepared homestyle cuisine using the freshest locally sourced ingredients and New Zealand’s finest high country lamb, farmed venison and seafood is served for you to enjoy while taking in views of the Arthurs Pass National Park. Since 1865 people have stayed at Bealey, in the early days as a break during their 36-hour journey in a horse-drawn coach from Christchurch to Hokitika. Within a short time Bealey became the destination as people discovered its alpine attractions and benefits. Times have changed but what made Bealey irresistible is timeless.
Destination
In the South Island’s high country Bealey is conveniently located on SH73 the main road to the West Coast, 90 minutes inland from Christchurch and its international airport. On the sunny southern bank of the Waimakariri River surrounded by awe-inspiring views of snow capped mountains and bush clad valleys, this alpine oasis has been a destination for travellers and tourists for over 150 years – and it’s easy to see why.
